I’ve been working on the new and improved Recap’d manual, and to be honest at first it seemed a little daunting. Events? Users? Widgets? And it all has something to do with captioning – like you can have scrolling across the bottom of your TV if you accidently hit the caption button. But now that I have it all figured out, the step-by-step directions should make it manageable for all users.
The updated Recap’d site has a bunch of new features that Sam Corey wrote about in his blog entry Recap’d 2.0, because of all the changes we made to the site we also re-wrote the manual. Now, the new and improved manual is outfitted with easy to follow step-by-step directions that even the least tech savvy person could follow. The manual is full of guiding screenshots for features accessible to both users and the general public. The digital version has an easily navigated table of contents that automatically hyperlinks to you to the section of the manual that you are looking for rather than scrolling through to the page that you are looking for.
This new manual will benefit Recap’d users and NCI’s clients now that any questions about Recap’d a user might ask, have been addressed and answered with clear concise step-by-step directions. The manual serves as a useful resource for navigating and editing Recap’d events and transcripts. The manual also has a preview of the new mobile Recap’d including screenshots from the Droid and iPhone.
