October 15, 2005 - Frameweld produces video presentations at Oglalal Lakota College (OLC) showcasing Instructional Practices and Reading Methodologies.
Increasing the reading proficiency of Native American children on the nation’s second largest Reservation was the goal of a two-week summer reading institute.
The Reading First Teacher Education Network (RFTEN) Summer Reading Institute brought together more than 60 elementary school teachers and parents on the Pine Ridge Reservation in Kyle, SD June 13-23. Teachers and administrators from various schools in the reservation were among the educators participating in the training sessions at the Pahin Sinte College Center. The Reading Institute, hosted by the Oglala Lakota College Education Department, offered teachers skills needed to enhance classroom reading instruction using scientifically-based reading research or SBRR.
Frameweld was responsible for editing and developing the presentations for web delivery. The videos were developed in Frameweld's synchronized multimedia format with closed caption text, in Section 508 compliant format. The videos can be viewed from the RFTEN website.
